Melissa Perez

Melissa is a seasoned educator with over a decade of experience meeting diverse learning needs through creative and effective teaching strategies. She brings multifaceted learning experiences with her background in traditional education and the arts. Throughout her career, Melissa has demonstrated a deep commitment to supporting underserved communities across K–12 schools, community-based programs, and tutoring services throughout Los Angeles.

A first-generation college graduate, Melissa earned her Bachelor of Arts in English and completed the English Teacher Preparation Track. Her passion for education led her to begin her career as a substitute teacher at various Title I schools in the Los Angeles area, where she developed a strong understanding of the challenges and rewards of working with diverse student populations.

Melissa joined Study Smart Tutors as a Tutor and now serves as an Academic Services Manager, where she continues to inspire young minds and champion equitable learning opportunities. In her current role, she focuses on supporting both students and educators through programs that foster growth, confidence, and lifelong learning.
