Maya joined Study Smart Tutors as a tutor, where she supported multiple DOI and ETO programs while primarily working with ELD students in Spanish-speaking classrooms. She later advanced in her career to become an Academic Services Manager.
For the past five years, Maya has been committed to facilitating the learning and well-being of students in a multitude of academic environments as an educator across California. She has served as an educator in diverse environments, including several years as a substitute teacher in the San Francisco Unified School District and later in Los Angeles charter schools.
Maya earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from San Francisco State University and is a proud member of Psi Chi, the International Honor Society in Psychology. Her passion for education has driven her to create safe, inclusive, and engaging environments where youth can express themselves, build confidence, and pursue their academic and personal goals.
