I am a first-generation student that holds an M.Ed in Educational Psychology from Loyola University Chicago and a B.A in Psychology from Cal State Monterey Bay. Prior to SST, I worked with LUC GEAR UP that served 13 high schools in the greater Chicago area to provide free SAT prep workshops. During my undergraduate, I worked for UCSC GEAR UP as an Academic Intern where I provided academic advising, tutoring, college, and financial aid knowledge for both students and parents and served as a translator for incoming ELL students and their parents. It is through working with GEAR UP and being a first-generation student myself that I strive to help more first-generation, low-income students pursue higher education while also helping them acquire the necessary tools to graduate. In my free time, I enjoy hiking, visiting museums, going to the beach, and watching horror films.
