Jordan Vargas began his journey in education by pursuing a degree in Mathematics for Teachers in 2013 from Simpson University. Jordan then continued through Simpson’s Teaching Credential Program and eventually completed Cal State Fullerton’s Teaching Induction Program to earn a California Single-Subject Clear Credential in 2017. Jordan’s Credential authorizes him to teach all levels of mathematics and provide instructional services to English Learners. In 2021, Jordan earned a Master’s of Science in Data Science from the University of Wisconsin Green Bay. This advanced degree helps merge Jordan’s passions for mathematics, computer science, and instruction.
Prior to working full-time with Study Smart Tutors, Jordan served as a high school and middle school math teacher at Magnolia Science Academy – Santa Ana. Some of his roles at Magnolia Science Academy included facilitating equitable instruction within a full-inclusion setting, supporting the school’s RTI model through all tiers, acting as grade-level chair, serving as an Edge Coach, and organizing the school’s basketball club.
Jordan’s history with Study Smart Tutors dates back to 2014 where began to facilitate and tutor with the organization inside and outside of California. Jordan joined as the Associate Director of Instruction in 2018 and now serves as the Sr. Director of Education. Jordan retains a deep enthusiasm for the work and impact that Study Smart Tutors continues to generate across the country!
In his free time, Jordan enjoys playing basketball, long-boarding, studying data science, and spending time with his wife, Nicole!
