Accounting Manager

With more than seven years of accounting experience, James brings deep expertise in accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliation, and financial operations management. His work has been instrumental in supporting consistent cash flow, profitability, and organizational efficiency through detailed reporting, forecasting, and financial analysis. He is especially skilled in monitoring expenses, evaluating profit margins, and identifying opportunities to strengthen financial performance across the organization.

James began his academic journey at the University of California, Santa Barbara, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science and Chemistry. He later expanded his professional specialization by earning an Associate’s degree in Accounting from Los Angeles Valley College. In addition, he has completed several Google certificate programs to stay current with evolving technology and accounting compliance practices. His strengths include financial analysis, forecasting, reconciliation, compliance oversight, auditing support, and process management.

At Study Smart Tutors, James manages a team of five and leads high-volume accounting maintenance and processing across the organization. Under his leadership, the team supports billing for more than 50 programs during the school year, managing schedules that exceed 20,000 lines of data each month. James and his team play a key role in tracking and reporting financial data to forecast revenue, monitor complex cash flow activity, and identify irregularities such as program overages and underutilization through the Program Health Report. Their responsibilities also include troubleshooting vendor compliance issues, supporting RFP submissions, overseeing month-end close and reconciliations, analyzing financial statements, and contributing to financial planning, expenditure guidance, and auditing efforts. Through this work, they help ensure billing accuracy, customer compliance, and the successful collection of revenue earned through business operations.
