Henry Boyd is thrilled to be continuing his career in field work and education as Lead Program Manager in New York and New Jersey for Study Smart Tutors. Born in Berkeley and raised in New York City and Santa Monica, Henry has been working as a tutor and teacher for 9 years and a program manager for 4, with extensive experience in DSAT, ACT, SHSAT, Regents, College Writing, ESOL, Arts Portfolio and Extracurricular prep and management, as well as having worked as a Field Organizer for various political campaigns. Henry loves working with people and specializes in supporting marginalized communities and populations as well as students with disabilities. He is passionate about bridging equity and access gaps across fields – whether that be in education, civic duties, or the arts.
While his own education was hyper focused in intensive Drama and Music performance training, Henry comes from an academic family of tenured Math and English professors at Stanford and UC Berkeley, respectively, where he was able to develop a deep appreciation for the power of education. Henry received his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Southern California and his Master’s degree (cum laude) from the Royal Academy of Music.
At Study Smart Tutors, Henry’s role as Lead Program Manager in NY/NJ allows him to employ his diverse and advanced skillset across communication and organization – having sprouted in the arts and flourished in education – to ensure program health and impact in the region. He is proud to bring his passion for equity and access to opportunity to the table and oversee the NY/NJ team, support our educators and partners, and set them up for success with their students.
