Afwandi Karunwi

Afwandi comes to Study Smart Tutors with a background in K-12 education and EdTech. It was her time spent as a Youth Leader and Upward Bound counselor that really sparked her interest in education. Having taught in several states and abroad, Afwandi is passionate about providing equitable education opportunities for all learners.

Afwandi attended the University of Pittsburgh and Bowling Green State University, near Toledo, OH. She holds a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Elementary Education and College Administration, respectively.

Outside of work, you will find Afwandi spending time with her husband and two boys, entertaining at home, preparing for a book club discussion, and volunteering with her local chapter of NCNW.
